Yeah, I've got to agree with you here. Into the Spiderverse and Encanto are great movies, but adding "diversity" by changing the race of a character/historical person like in Snow White or Cleopatra is annoying. I honestly think it's offensive to race-swap characters because it's like saying that the stories from the actor's culture aren't good enough to make into a movie.

Yeah I completely agree, it’s just not as important as making a good movie. Thanks for reading!

def agree. i think diversity only works on the screen if it feels effortless. tbh the forcing of diversity for ratings/money is the most un-woke part of this whole dialogue

“What these companies don’t understand is that we don’t care about stuff like that.” Clearly you do care enough to make this article. As if you would have watched Snow White anyway? Typical right wing grievances always looking for the most irrelevant stuff to be angry about. Charlie you seem bright so I warn you not to go down the dark path of being a culture war crusader. Complaining about “wokeness” does not make you look like a hero standing up to some agenda, it just makes you look like some loon who is overly obsessed with corporate marketing. That’s all it is: Marketing. So if you really don’t care, just move on.
